What do the word "Olkom" and our corporate colours mean?
Word “Olkom” was selected as a trade name not only because it’s easy to remember or because of its euphony and conciseness. This word along with the graphical representation and corporate colours talks about origin of the trademark, contains information about main businesses of the enterprises that use the trademark and even philosophy of their activities.
History of TM “Olkom” began from proceeding of sunflower seeds and manufacture of sunflower oil that in Ukrainian sounds like “olija”. “Oliya” (oil) remains the main direction of business “Olkom”, moreover oliya is considered as one of the symbols of Ukrainian food industry and national cousine. Sunflower oil is the basis for manufacture of mayonnaises, spreads and margarines, as for confectionary industry, as for home kitchen. That’s why “Olkom” should be interpreted as “olijna kompanija” (“oil company”).
Name and surname of the creator of the trademark began with “Ol”: Oleg Oleksenko, therefore “Olkom” can be explained as “Oleksenko i kompaniya” (Oleksenko and company).
Besides, “kom” (com) means not only “kompanija” (company) but also “komercija” (commerce). “Kom” (com) in the trademark “Olkom” symbolizes that the enterprise strictly follows the fair competition principle and represents the mission.
Corporate colours “Olkom” are yellow, red and white. Yellow is the colour of sunflower and bright Southern sun, without which neither sunflower or other crop culture would grow in the lands of “Olkom”. Also yellow colour symbolizes “gold” of sunflower oil, one of the principal products of the company.

From other side, white should be interpreted as colour of dairy manufacture of “Olkom”, colour of TM “Milk River”, sub-brand of “Olkom”.
Finally, red - colour of life and fight - symbolizes our understanding of reality, aspiration to win and willingness to achieve our goals.
The famous “wave” that underlines the word “Olkom” symbolizes the distinctive feature of two products basic for “Olkom”: smooth flow properties of vegetable and animal fats – sunflower oil and milk.
